Bad Blogger

I have been a terrible blogger these past few weeks. Summer just seems to go by so fast, I can’t believe it is mid-August already! The last few week have been so jammed full of stuff that I can’t describe it all so I am not going to bombard you with pictures, because everyone needs to see copious amounts of pictures of my super cute kids right? If no then you can stop reading!

Most of the time is is what happens when I try and get a photo!

Naked baby trying to choose her clothes!

Playing firemen at grandma’s house.

We tried fresh peaches, they were a hit! (fresh hummus not do much!)

Reading books!

Loving sisters!

We went to the museum to see the special exhibit about dinosaurs. Daddy wore the baby!

We also rode on the subway. We could have done this for the entire day and both kids would have loved it!

Digging for dinosaur bones.

Riding in the sling at the book store.

Playing Lego in her dress up princess clothes!

J decided that going in the house that was made was much better than playin with the house. She then methodically took it apart piece by piece.

That just about sums up my last few weeks. I am hoping this post turns out ok as i am trying to do it from my phone as I am trapped under a nursing/sleeping baby. I hope to give you some more in depth post next week as I have been working on some exciting things!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Canada Day!

Today we celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday. As a kid I always looked forward to this day as it meant that Dad was done work for 2 weeks and we would go camping. This year we had lots of plans to play outside with the kiddie pool and use the fun new water guns that my husband bough for himself the girls and possibly see some fireworks. However this morning A got out of bed and came to tell me that she had spit up all over her bed. She then spit up on  my coffee table. So all of our plans are up in the air at the moment.

I will say with all of the grossness that is vomiting, A handles it very well. I guess it is partly due to the fact that her sister still occasionally spits up if she nurses too much. So for now I am spending the day watching a Veggie Tales movie (we are on the 3rd time through it) with my sick little girl while J crawls around and eats things off the floor. But Happy Canada Day to you all.

Happy Canada Day – from a sick little girl!

Happy Belated Father’s Day

This past Sunday was Father’s day. A wonderful day to celebrate the wonderful men in our life. This year the girls and I got my wonderful husband a book. He loves books, well actually we both love books. We have books everywhere, we have 3 bookshelves stuffed with books and more hiding in boxes in the basement! But this year we got him the book Family Shepherds by Voddie Baucham Jr. It looks like a really good read.

For the grandfather’s this year I decided to do something a little bit cheaper creative. I had seen this cute little footprint craft on Dollar Store Mom and I thought it would be perfect! So I went to the dollar store to pick up some paint . I found some nice paint for a dollar and came home. That is when I noticed that it said “acrylic paint” eeep that means it doesn’t wash off!! Oh well I foraged ahead.

I got everything ready and covered the kitchen in newspaper. J was fine with me painting her foot and pushing it onto the paper. She even wanted to climb into the paint she thought it was pretty fun. Finally when I got her all cleaned up I called for A and said it was her turn. She was very upset and told me “No mommy we don’t paint with our feet we use paint brushes.”  I told her that she was right but we were making special presents so it was ok this time! After much, much coaxing she finally agreed and she had so much fun! Once it was dry I added all the little cutouts and I have to say it turned out lovely! (sorry for the crappy picture)

J’s foot was a little too small to turn into a tractor so we made it a trailer. Grandma thought it was a nice picture but she thought it was even nicer when A finally pointed out that it was made from her foot! Grandpa was equally as thrilled and it is now proudly displayed in his office!

I hope you all took time to celebrate the wonderful fathers in your lives this past weekend.

Hi Bloggy Land!

Hello out there!!

It has been entirely too long since I last posted February wow. So much and so little has changed since then! Some highlights. Little A turned three, THREE, I can’t believe it. Over the last little bit her vocabulary has exploded. She is talking in full blown long and sometimes run on sentences). We are still working on when to use the words “he and she” it is a hard concept for a little person. I think my favourite things that she says are the two words/phrases she mispronounces, she calls the garbage “gargub” and when she burps she says “skeet me” so sweet!  She gets a long wonderfully well with her little sister, they are becoming the best of friends.

Baby J is growing like a little weed. She is now almost 10 months old and is crawling all over the place. As a result of her new found mobility she has made my life incredibly more busy! She isn’t eating solids yet, she likes to suck on the odd cracker but that is about it. She still breastfeeds about 60 billion times a day (ok I exaggerate it is every 2 hours which feels like a billion!) and I am ok with that! We still aren’t sleeping through the night because she nurses every 2 hours but sometimes there is progress in that department.  She got her first tooth on June 4th and is now working on the next one, as a result I have a very cranky little baby on my hands!

Hubs and I are doing well. I don’t really have anything exciting to say about us! I am hoping to get more updates and recipes up soon. I have some yummy ones I am working on! Here is a nice new picture of my girls!Image
